The Board of Trustees of the Jensen Foundation is excited to announce the winners of the 2009 Jensen Foundation Voice Competition.

First Prize:
Anthony Roth Costanzo
Countertenor

Second Prize:
Jan Cornelius
Soprano

Third Prize:
Margaret Gawrysiak
Mezzo-Soprano

Encouragement Winner:
Christopher Magiera
Baritone

The additional twelve finalists each received $300. Congratulations to the finalists and to all our 2009 participants.

2009 Grant Recipients Announced! In order to expand its services to young opera singers, the Jensen Foundation also provides competitive grants to young artists programs run by opera companies operating in the United States. Four opera companies received grant money this year for young artist programs. Full Press Release

Tenth Annual Voice Competition Finals

The 2009 Competition Finals were held on May 16th at the Baruch Performing Arts Center in New York City.

AWARDS:

First place - $15,000
Second place - $10,000;
Third place - $5,000;
The Lendon Todd Munday Encouragement Award - $2,000
Remaining finalists - $300

The 2010 Competition dates and application information will be available in late 2009.
