COMPETITION FINALS MAY 17--FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

The 2008 Fritz and Lavinia Jensen Foundation Annual Voice Competition will take place May 12-17 at Engleman Recital Hall at Baruch College in New York City. The final round, open and free to the public, begins at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 17th. Full Press Release

Jensen Foundation Announces Winners of Eighth Annual Voice Competition

over $35,000 awarded to young opera and classical singers

New York, May 21 -- The Fritz & Lavinia Jensen Foundation is pleased to announce the winners of its Eighth Annual Voice Competition, held May 19, 2007 in New York City. First prize has been awarded to soprano Wendy Bryn Harmer, who receives a cash award of $15,000 as well as an engagement with Opera Carolina in Charlotte. Full Press Release

2007 winner recieves contract at Opera Carolina

As part of the Jensen Foundation first prize award, Opera Carolina conductor Jim Meena has agreed to offer winners a contract role. 2007 winner, Gaston Rivero was contracted for the 2007-08 season opener. Full Press Release
